This is Zachariah's first pictures. We usually do the first ones at 3 months. For those that have been to our house our stairway is full of pictures. 3, 6, 9, 12, and 2 years on one side. And now with Josie starting with 3 & 4 on the other side.
As I have written before I got all worked up about pictures. The perfect outfit. The perfect smile. The right background. The right photographer. Well, with this being the 3rd kid I have to be more calmed down. I grabbed the outfit while at JCPenney last time. I narrowed it down to 2 outfits and Josie picked. She did well. It brings out the blue in Z's eyes. My only blue eyed kiddo. And the rest, I just couldn't stress about because we have been so busy.
I did think ahead and planned the pictures for a Saturday. I figured I could just go with Z and D could stay home with Josie and Asher. Good call Mama! It was a zoo. I could hardly walk through there. I checked us in and they said it would be 20 minutes. I figured that was about right because I needed to change him and nurse him. So I went back to the dressing room. He had slept up until the moment I put him in the car so I knew he needed a new diaper. And who can smile when they are dirty. Well, he had a super massive blowout from the arches of his feet up to his armit level on his back. I only had a few wipes and 2 diapers. Well, now 1 left. I didn't bring another onesie. The thought crossed my mind, but I figured we would be safe.
So I cleaned him up and nursed him in a back corner. Then got him dressed. Then we continued to wait and wait. It was over an hour. Of course he spit up on his vest. I was able to wash it and allow it to dry in the long wait. Then picture time. He did awesome. It took about 3 minutes to do 50 shots. And would have been 2 minutes but I took his clothes off and put on his last clean diaper. He just smiled and cooed. It went very well.
Then they said 15-20 minutes and the pictures would be ready. I waited 30 minutes and then checked on them. They said 5-8 minutes more. So I ran next door and got a jacket for Christmas. We will all have to match of course. Gosh I am a sentimental sap! I got a clearance jacket and necklace that was additionally 25% off. Score Mama!
So another successful photo shoot for the Hughes.
