Our Thanksgiving Day was pretty simple this year. Dave got a smoked turkey breast and I threw the sides together.
I did want to share my new found way to make perfect mashed potatoes. For those that know me well, know I love potatoes! So here are the tricks.
Yukon Golds. Gotta get Yukon Golds. Peel them, leave them whole (cuts down on water they absorb) and add them to a pot of cold water with lots of salt. Bring it to a boil and then back to a simmer for 30-40 minutes. Then add them back to the pot to evaporate more water. Then mash. They had the best texture and tasted so good.
